Echo Flower Shawl
This shawl was a great lesson in believing in the virtues of blocking. Since I had a specific friend in mind when making this, I became so discouraged with how small I was convinced it would turn out to be that it sat in a 'to be finished' basket for a month or two. The pattern scrunched the stitches up so completely that i was all but ready to throw it out. After blocking, however, it unraveled itself perfectly.
The main pattern throughout looks like little flowerbuds or strawberries. The edge has gorgeous little nupps that run an opaque contrast to the transparency of the rest of the shawl. I can't wait to make this shawl again, maybe in a mustard yellow or chartreuse. The photos with the truest colors are probably the two up top, but even then it's not quite. This is not a shrinking violet color, so imagine the above two with a little kick. Anyway, here are some pictures:
