so this is a little out of order, but i don't want to hear any complaints. i'm posting, aren't i?
it's saturday, and a great way to spend saturdays (to me, at least) is to feel like a go-getter by riding my bike down to the farmer's market at eight in the morning. this was not one of those saturdays. it was almost even better.
i'm uploading some photos, under the blanket, and have a very special man delivering and rewarming coffee for me as i'm watching the dark clouds disappear and make way for a surprisingly sunny-yet-nippy afternoon. isn't that the best feeling? you wake up and look outside to see that it's a dark and gloomy day, and automatically you recalculate your plans to account for possible rain and cold. then, slyly, almost imperceptibly, it gets lighter and lighter and grey clouds disappear one at a time. then little windows of blue poke out and your heart starts racing to reclaim the afternoon that you thought you'd have to surrender. it's almost human, isn't it? waking up on the wrong side of the bed, in the worst mood, but having it slowly whittled down to laughter and smiles by the afternoon by the slow but persistent prodding of life or others. i freaking love days like this.
this was all a slow build up into the best news ever.
The amazing Jacques Pepin is back!!!!!!!! after 6 months of shoddy and ill-advised programming on the public channel that resulted in a saturday morning without my favourite frenchman, he's back in all of his frenchy glory. i love this man. welcome back, weekends spent talking in a ridiculous french accent.
