we went to chico yesterday for our friend sean's wedding. it was a very intimate wedding and we had a great time catching up with some faraway old and new (to me) friends. let me first preface this with a self-congratulatory statement that i remained at all times a classy lady. however, chico is a city that is unlike any i have ever been on a saturday night.
i am not strong enough to live in chico.
these people party like the world is about to end. it was only 11 or so when we walked to a downtown bar after the wedding and people were spilling onto the street, i saw at least three vomit stains on the sidewalks (we walked six blocks, you guys. six blocks.) and the most random holes-in-the-walls were literally crammed with people holding two or even three drinks in their hands and gesturing wildly. i admitted defeat quickly. and i didn't even feel old about it, which i regularly do when i walk into a forever21 (pretty sure they're contracted to dress the entire city of chico) or a regular bar after 10pm. i think we all just realized we were completely unprepared for the sheer intensity of... insanity. if i ever have need to go back, i'm begging the universe to make it a tuesday.
here are some pictures of the wedding. i was too dumbstruck to take pictures of the chaos that happened afterward.
