it's pretty awesome being me.

Grilled asparagus, melted brie, turkey bacon phyllo bites. i had some idea to make a little chutney and brie appetizer that i made a few months ago. they come out looking really tasty and like little piles of dainty fabric gathered up into a ball. i did not do that, but these turned out so damn good that i don't (hardly) even miss what these Could Have Been.
This was a look-in-the-fridge-and-whip-something-up kind of creation, and i don't even think i seasoned the inside of the rolls (though the asparagus was definitely seasoned before). i wrapped up like 3 full sheets of phyllo that were buttered once in between themselves and then liberally on both sides. just start at the bottom of the rectangle, line everything up in a horizontal ribbon from one end to the other, and then roll up and seal with egg wash. i cut before putting in the oven and i would definitely recreate this by sticking to that idea. turned out way better than post-cooking cutting would.
