Back in the summer we were invited to our friend Valerie's son's birthday. Valerie passed away in Japan a few months ago. It was very sudden, and as a result, Israel and Alex moved back to Memphis to figure things out. Israel turned 3 and Joanna, Valerie's sister (above) worked so hard to give him a great birthday. He was a little overwhelmed with all the people, but he looked like he had fun. I love this picture of Joanna.
