yarn shipment!!!!!

eatsleepknit.com has a really cute way to retain customers, and that is with their yarnathon, where each skein of yarn you buy has its yardage added to a total that is your marathon distance.at certain mileage points you get little gifts or incentives. for example, i got a 1m welcome package, which included:

a free blanket pattern, color and yarnweight swatches, a scratch ticket (!!!!), button, pen, chocolate, etc.

(malabrigo superwash sock yarn in 'aguas')

(shibuiknits superwash merino wool sock weight in mulberry
[left] and peony [right])

(dream in color smooshy in 'good luck jade')

(madelinetosh worsted in 'moorland' - is a brighter green than this)

(madelinetosh handpainted lace in 'clover' - is more muted and less bright than this; has more almost-white flecks and is a little more sage-colored... very pretty)

(by far my favorite: madelinetosh lace in 'iris' - is more blue than this, with these crazy other flecks of color... is less purple-y. SO PRETTY. i think i've found the project that this will be for... very special color.)

(madelinetosh yarn in 'violin' - i was hoping that this would be more true to the photo on the website, with a lighter base and with highlights of pink, peach, and light orange. it's a lot more varied than this photo... here it looks pretty solid, but in actuality is flecked with under- and overtones.)

(malabrigo yarn in 'pearl ten' - i'm currently using this for another Oriel stole and i must have forgotten how freaking soft this is already, because that must explain why i have two other colors waiting for me in my yarn stash, unused. even before washing and blocking i am in amazement. so pretty. best described as a purple-grey. this photo is pretty true to color)
