i actually started a long lace scarf a little more than a week ago (Jan 8), and since friday i've knit over a foot, but with a sneer. i love the yarn ('buckingham' by bristol yarn gallery), but this project is taking forever, which has been encouraging me to go on knitting marathons (in between tummy crunches and leg lifts... hello, new year's resolution) every night in an effort to get it over with faster. what's happened instead is i'm just getting crankier that the ball of yarn isn't getting smaller faster.
however, i have taken this marathon opportunity to catch up on all of the gossip, food, and more gossip blogs. and i'm 100 pages into a short history of tractors in ukraine, this novel that our next-door-neighbor lent me and is actually pretty good. my multitasking abilities are unbelievable.
sooo... just checkin' in. i can't wait to get this damn thing off of my needles so i can focus on the big box of yarn that came in the mail yesterday.
