what are your new year's resolutions? you know, i don't really pashaw making resolutions anymore. i invite it, i welcome the opportunity to reflect (it's a knee-jerk reaction to the ending of a year and the beginning of a new one, so why fight it?), and there's nothing wrong with a little timed introspection.
in general, i'd like to make a consistent effort to be good to my body. i want to make that a more consistent lifestyle choice. right now i get into fitness and stretching and watching how much water i drink in cycles... and right now i am definitely not in that cycle. i've been eating very well, trying to break my cooking down into vitamins and minerals and adding things to create essential amino acids and all of that, but i want the other element there too. in it's simplest form, i want to put good things into my body, take time for myself, and sweat (nearly) every day.
also, i'd like to really honor ingredients this year. something that i've really enjoyed is getting to know the winter vegetables, which are so often regarded as the dowdy understudies to the bounties of spring and fall. i'd like to find ways to just bring out the flavors of everything i buy using simplistic cooking methods and treat them with the appropriate amount of respect.
aaaand to cap it off i want to get into breadmaking and learn how to crochet.
