christmas baking, pt. 2

chocolate peanut butter rice crispies

these are exactly what you look for in christmas baking, if what you're looking includes indulgent decadence. they may look humble, but i assure you, they will satisfy all of your cravings for christmas sweets in one fell swoop.
i'm going to direct you to the website where i retrieved it from, the illustrious smitten kitchen, and give you a word of advice: buy the best chocolate chips you can. i got Guillard chocolate chips, randomly found (and on sale) at safeway. this is definitely one of those occasions to break out the better chocolate chips or squares; the chocolate i used added this gorgeously soft and buttery middle as part of the chocolate-peanut butter solution, then got crispier as the thin top layer. i'm convinced that this would not have been made possible with the run-of-the-grocery-store melted chocolate, so i'd encourage you to splurge.
